Starting in June, elderly Hong Kong citizens who have settled in Guangdong and Fujian provinces can apply for the "Living Allowance for the Elderly" introduced by the Hong Kong SAR Government.

The living allowance is available in 2,675 yuan or 3,585 yuan per month allotments. Elderly Hong Kong citizens living in Zhongshan can go to the Consultancy Service Center of Zhongshan Federation of Trade Unions of HKFTU for consultation and application without returning to Hong Kong in person. The staff there will help them fill out the form and send it to Hong Kong for processing.

The allowance programs in Guangdong and Fujian previously launched by the Hong Kong SAR Government have provided Hong Kong elders in the mainland with welfare payments, and more than 20,000 elderly have benefited from the programs.
