After testing, "facial recognition payment" became available on Zhongshan's Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) buses starting July 15. After finishing registration, it only takes one second for passengers to pass through the gate and enter the BRT stations by facial recognition.

The "facial recognition payment" system was first put into a trial run at 13 stations of Phase I of the BRT Line, and users electronic transportation cards can enjoy the same discount they would normally receive with their card.

A total of 10,000 users can participate in the first public trial run. Citizens can use the new feature after online verification through their Zhongshan electronic transportation card service function on Alipay.
