Zhongshan mayor Xiao Zhanxin presided over a meeting to study and deploy policies to promote consumption on April 27. The meeting approved the Zhongshan Vehicle Consumption Promotion Subsidy Scheme for 2022.

The meeting stressed the need to introduce financial incentives for automobile purchases to benefit the people and enterprises, further boosting consumer's confidence, accelerating market recovery and better meeting people's yearning for a better life.

The Zhongshan Vehicle Consumption Promotion Subsidy Scheme for 2022 stipulates that subsidies will be given to independent legal entities of automobile enterprises above designated size registered in Zhongshan and individual consumers who buy automobiles at branches in Zhongshan. The subsidies can be divided into three categories: "direct purchase of new autos", "old-for-new automobile exchange program" and "motorcycle-for-auto exchange program".
