Bokai Community Expat Service Center was unveiled on June 15 in the presence of leaders of Zhongshan Foreign Affairs Bureau, Zhongshan Public Security Bureau, Torch Development Zone and Bokai Community, as well as of representatives of foreign residents and foreign language volunteers.

Located in the southern part of Torch Development Zone, Bokai Community covers an area of 10.9 square kilometers. It includes 6 large residential complexes including Kaiyin New Town, with beautiful living environment and complete living facilities that attract an increasing number of foreign nationals.

The service center aims to integrate foreign language volunteer resources to provide one-stop comprehensive services for foreign residents and carry out various theme activities so as to encourage expats to get involved in community life and participate in community services.

What kinds of services are available for foreign residents?

01 Registration of temporary residence

Previously, foreign residents in Bokai Community need to register for temporary residence at Haotou Police Station. From now on, they can make an appointment by phone (87161223), and then finish registration at Bokai Community Police Station.

02 Make appointments for visa consultation

Foreign nationals who have difficulties in visa and permanent residence permit processing can also call 87161223 to make an appointment with the police to have face-to-face consultation in the service center.

03 Collect feedback from foreign residents

For community matters other than visa, foreign residents can call the hotline of Bokai Community (88363733) for consultation and feedback. At present, the hotline is only available in Chinese. Foreigners are advised to call the hotline with the assistance of relatives and friends, or directly go to the community committee for consultation.

04 Carrying out various exchange activities and policy interpretation symposiums

The center will carry out Chinese-foreigner fellowship activities on Chinese traditional festivals, and organize policy interpretation symposiums with relevant government departments according to the needs of foreign residents, so as to help them better understand local policies in terms of entry-exit affairs, epidemic prevention and control, and etc.
