The China National Intellectual Property Administration officially accepted the construction plan of a Zhongshan utility model patents pilot rapid pre-examination service on October 10.The Zhongshan (Lighting) IPR Protection Center will be the first IPR protection center approved for UM patent pre-examination in China.

This approval means that Zhongshan will be able to offer rapid pre-examination service for 10 IPC class utility model patent types and 7 Locarno class design patent types in the lighting field. The time required for UM patents to be authorized by the China National Intellectual Property Administration will be shortened from 6 months to 1 month, helping enterprises in lighting industry increase innovation.
