Ferry service between Zhongshan Port and Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), and between Zhongshan Port and downtown Hong Kong (China Ferry Terminal) will resume on January 13. Passengers who have got ship tickets and necessary certificates can go through the customs without appointments because there is no daily limit to the number of water route passengers. The ticket presale has started.

* The whole journey from Zhongshan Port to downtown Hong Kong (China Ferry Terminal) takes at least 75 minutes. The ticket check stops 5 minutes before the liner departs. If more liners are put into operation on holidays and festivals, the announcement of the box office will prevail. The ticket is date specific and can only be used on the day you choose during purchase.

Zhongshan Port - HKIA

* The whole journey from Zhongshan Port to Hong Kong International Airport takes about 70 minutes. Both the ticket sale and the check-in stop 20 minutes before the liner departs. The ticket check stops 15 minutes before the liner departs. It is recommended that passengers should arrive in the 2nd-floor box office of Zhongshan Port, buy tickets and check in 120 minutes before the liner departs. The ticket is date specific and can only be used on the day you choose during purchase.

Preparation for going to HK

There is no daily limit to the number of water route passengers. Passengers can select their departure time according to the schedule of Zhongshan Port.

Ferry service to flight service

The passenger who is going to take a flight of an airline that allows its passengers to check in in advance at Zhongshan Port can go through the check-in procedure, obtain his or her boarding pass and check his or her luggage at the check-in counter of the port before boarding a liner. The whole journey from Zhongshan Port to SkyPier of HKIA takes about 70 minutes. The passenger does not need to go through any entry and exit formalities processes after he or she arrives in Hong Kong. The passenger can directly go through the luggage safety inspection by showing his or her boarding pass at the airport. Passengers can also be refunded for the departure tax (HKD120) they prepay during flight ticket purchase at the airport.

Flight service to ferry service

From Jan 13, 2023 on, passengers who fly to HKIA from foreign countries can go back to Chinese mainland by taking a ferry on the same day upon their arrival in Hong Kong whatever airline service they use. Many airlines have now started to provide a direct luggage transport service for passengers. Therefore, passengers can check their luggage through to Zhongshan Port when they go through the check-in procedure at their departure airports in foreign countries.

Reminder: Do not go through immigration and claim your luggage after you arrive at HKIA. You will not be able to go to the ferry ticket service counter and enjoy the ferry service once you have gone through the entry procedure.
