Qin Weizhong, mayor of Shenzhen, visited Zhongshan on May 31 and attended the signing ceremony of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan airport project. The project will realize seamless connection between Zhongshan and Shenzhen Airport via cross-city bus service, which will greatly save travel time and further enhance connectivity between the two cities. Guo Wenhai, secretary of the CPC Zhongshan Municipal Committee, Xiao Zhanxin, mayor of Zhongshan, and Gao Shengyuan, secretary-general of the Shenzhen municipal government, witnessed the signing.

Qin Weizhong also visited Cuiheng New District, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge construction site and Zhongshan Expo Center to learn about the planning and construction of Cuiheng New District, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan innovation cooperation zone, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan airport project among others. The two sides exchanged ideas on matters of cooperation such as intercity railway, port, logistics, culture and tourism, convention and exhibition, investment promotion, and etc.
