On December 12, the "Fly-via-Zhuhai-Hong Kong" passenger transfer service was launched. Through the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB), Chinese mainland residents can take international flights directly from Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) without an entry permit.
For outbound passengers, they can print their boarding passes at the departure hall of Zhuhai land port, register their luggage, and take the shuttle buses to the SkyPier Terminal of HKIA after completing exit procedures.
For inbound passengers, they can take the shuttle buses from the SkyPier Terminal to Zhuhai for entry procedures. Also, Zhuhai Port will become the only port in the Chinese mainland with direct access to the HKIA.
The domestic route is as follows: domestic departure-Zhuhai Airport-HZMB-HKIA-overseas destinations. And for foreign passengers, the route is "overseas departure-HKIA-HZMB-Zhuhai Airport-domestic destinations."
The new transfer service policy will more effectively link Zhuhai's 90 mainland air routes with Hong Kong's nearly 200 international destinations. Zhuhai Airport will also open a multimodal passenger terminal to provide shuttle bus service for passengers traveling to HKIA for transit flights.
Additionally, the border control of HZMB has set up a designated inspection channel in Zhuhai land port to differentiate ordinary travelers and travelers to HKIA for inspection, and to provide convenient and high-quality customs clearance services.
In the first stage of the service, outbound and inbound passengers can check in and complete their exit-entry inspections at the Zhuhai Port. In the next stage, passengers can also check in at the Zhuhai Jinwan Airport, then complete border inspection at the Zhuhai Port before directly reaching the HKIA.
