The Zhongshan Meteorological Disaster Early-warning and Monitoring Information Center was put into use on January 17.

The center is located near Jinzhong Reservoir in the Guxianglin Area in East District. It covers a total area of 146 mu, with 49.1 mu of construction land and a built-up area of 7,959 square meters.

The center will optimize and integrate basic meteorological service resources, maximize the utilization of human resources and detection facilities for meteorological disaster prevention and reduction, improve the city's meteorological monitoring, forecasting and early-warning service capabilities, and serve as the first line of defense against meteorological disaster.
