"It has been several years since I returned to reunite with my family and friends. I contacted the Customs department before my departure, and the customs officers explained the procedures. Today, the entire customs clearance process went smoothly," said Mr Zheng, who has been living abroad for many years.
With the Spring Festival approaching, many overseas Chinese from Zhongshan are returning home. During the Spring Festival, there will be a significant increase in passenger flow at Zhongshan Port. From February 9th to 16th, a total of 46 inbound and outbound flights will be added at Zhongshan Passenger Port.
During the winter vacation, many residents also traveled to Hong Kong. "Although there is an increase in inbound passengers, customs clearance is still very smooth, and the customs officers provide excellent service," said Mr Deng, who commutes between Zhongshan and Hong Kong every week.
Additionally, from February 4th to 7th, the Zhongshan frontier inspection stationn released an average of more than 1,500 inbound passengers per day, which marks a surge of about 150% compared to the previous period. It is expected that the peak inbound passenger flow will continue until Chinese New Year's Eve, and the outbound passenger flow will begin to peak on the second day of the first lunar month.
