The first UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) delivery point in the business district of Tanzhou Town, Zhongshan, has successfully completed its first test flight.

The delivery point, Hesheng Department Store (合胜百货), is expected to be put into trial operation around the upcoming Chinese New Year after subsequent testing and optimization.

Gao Binbin, deputy general manager of Zhongshan Hefeng Intelligent Logistics Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Hefeng Logistics"), the UAV logistics operator for the test flight, introduced that this test flight mainly tested the flight mode of the system platform and the altitude of the airspace. 

The UAV carried two boxes of beverages weighing a total of 15 kilograms and flew from the Hefeng apron in the Third Industrial Estate of Tanzhou Town to the apron of Hesheng Department Store. The one-way distance was 5.3 kilometers, and the flight time was about 6 minutes.

Currently, except for setting up a delivery point outside the Hesheng Department Store, Hefeng Logistics is also building apron take-off and landing points in another business district and two residential communities in Tanzhou Town. 

The operation mini-program for UAV delivery has been developed, and merchants can already settle in. Some functions on the customer interface are being optimized. 

The fee for UAV delivery is tentatively set to be equivalent to that of regular takeout and express delivery. Customers can choose to pick up the parcels at the apron by themselves or opt for home delivery.
