The Guangdong Intellectual Property Protection Center (GIPPC) Zhongshan branch center was inaugurated on March 4.

The branch center is located at No.12 Yuelai Road South in Shiqi. It provides public services such as patent pre-approval, rapid rights confirmation, rights protection assistance and guidance on handling overseas disputes, administrative adjudication of patent infringement disputes, IP information services, data IP registration and review, and etc.

The Zhongshan branch center will launch fast IP services for innovative entities in Zhongshan. The authorization cycle of invention patents will be reduced to about three months, six times faster than the traditional procedure, and the authorization cycles of utility model patents and design patents will be shortened to about one month and two weeks respectively.

In 2024, Zhongshan granted a total of 38,358 patents, which included 4,271 invention patents, up 46.22% year-on-year.

So far, Zhongshan has established one city-level IP protection center, one national-level IP rights protection center, four city-level rapid rights protection centers, 23 town/sub-district IP rights protection and service stations, and more than 130 mobile corporate IP protection studios.
