Around 9 PM on October 15, the brightly lit gate area of Zhongshan Bonded Logistics Center marked a milestone: a truck carrying knitted fabric cleared customs rapidly and entered the facility. This signaled the initial launch of round-the-clock customs clearance services in Zhongshan.
Effective August 15, 2025, China's General Administration of Customs has piloted 9 reform measures across 6 logistics centers nationwide. Under Gongbei Customs, Zhongshan Bonded Logistics Center stands as South China's sole pilot implementing these measures, with its customs checkpoints operating 24/7 from October 15 on.
"The 24-hour customs clearance mode enables vehicles to enter and exit automatically — arriving when needed, departing as required. This has significantly reduced companies' storage and logistics costs," said Yu Li, deputy general manager of logistics company KWE.
