Zhongshan citizens were delighted to see a familiar team - the China (Hong Kong) English school parade team composed mainly of foreign teachers and students from Hong Kong and Macao in the Zhongshan Charity Parade on February 24 this year. This is the 30th consecutive year that the school's teachers and students have participated in the Zhongshan Charity Parade.

Zhongshan Charity Parade is a grand event which inherits love and conveys vitality. In this year's Charity Parade, more than 50 staff, including student members of the Red Cross Society, foreign teachers and administrative staff of each campus, participated in the parade. Before the Spring Festival, the Zhongshan Campus of the school held the 30th New Year Charity Carnival in the kindergarten, the primary and the secondary section at the same time. Teachers, students and parents raised a total of 300,000 yuan through charity performances and charity sales, all of which were donated to the Red Cross Society of China Zhongshan Branch. On January 21, the school donated another 100,000 yuan to the Ready Go Challenge 2024 (Greater Bay Area) co-sponsored by the Chinese Red Cross Foundation and Red Cross Society of China Guangdong Branch under the guidance of the Red Cross Society of China.

Over the past 30 years, C.H.E.S. has been adhering to the school motto of "Learned, Trustworthy, Innovative and Dedication", committing itself to cultivating students with not only excellent academic ability, but also the spirit of contributing to society. As a major feature of the school, the culture of charity and love is deeply imprinted in the hearts of every C.H.E.S. student. As a traditional activity over the years, the school holds the charity carnival every year, and participates in the Zhongshan Charity Parade, unswervingly practicing the school's values and educational concept. So far, the school has donated more than 7 million yuan to public welfare. Dr. Jonathan K.C. Choi, Chairman of C.H.E.S., said: "Charity, as its name suggests, requires the participation and dedication of everyone. Through practical actions, C.H.E.S. has been interpreting the concept of love charity, which has influenced tens of thousands of teachers and students in our school. I believe that in the coming days, the students of C.H.E.S. will continue to inherit the power of love and contribute to the harmonious development of our society with continuous loving actions."
