Fifteen years ago, German artist Gottfried came to Zhongshan by chance and then lived here to create works and hold exhibitions. Zhongshan became his gateway to understanding Chinese culture, and the diverse cultures have sparked his creative inspiration.

Gottfried has brought the openness and diversity of European art into Zhongshan and also integrated the image of Eastern art into his work. Recently, Gottfried held a solo exhibition and a joint exhibition with Chinese painter Li Jiang in Zhongshan, showcasing the artistic fruits of his years of dedication in this city.

West and East, home and abroad, distance creates differences, and these differences collide to create new art.
