November 12, 2026 marks the 160th anniversary of the birth of Dr Sun Yat-sen, a great national hero, great patriot and great forerunner of China's democratic revolution. The Standing Committee of the 14th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee recently announced that a grand ceremony will be held to commemorate this occasion. 

Leland Sun, great-grandson of Sun Yat-sen, and chairman of the Sun Yat-sen Center Foundation, expressed strong anticipation for the event. He revealed plans to collaborate with the Museum of Dr Sun Yat-sen in Zhongshan to host the 36th Joint Conference of Sun Yat-sen and Soong Ching Ling Memorials in Zhongshan in 2026. The event aims to promote Sun Yat-sen's cultural legacy, boost Zhongshan's global influence, and foster cultural exchanges between China and other nations.
