Shachong, a renowned overseas Chinese village in South District of Zhongshan, is home to numerous overseas Chinese houses and rich cultural heritage. Stories of notable figures like Ma Ying Piu, a pioneer of Chinese modern department stores, continue to be passed down through generations.

As a provincial historical and cultural block and a demonstration site for overseas Chinese culture in Guangdong province, Shachong village has revitalized its overseas Chinese residential architectural resources in recent years, restoring the original appearance of the buildings with minimal architectural intervention.

The Xiangshan Study, overseas Chinese exhibition hall, and Designers' Hub have successively emerged, allowing old buildings to take on new functions. This preserves a sense of nostalgia, keeps the old overseas Chinese houses ever fresh, cherished across generations.
