After 4 months of repair and construction, the Wuguishan demonstration section of the Shiqi-Macao Ancient Road has reopened today.

The reconstruction includes an 800-meter flagstone road paved on the hill-climbing trail, and guardrails and slope protection facilities added to improve the safety of tourists.  

At the entrance of the Wuguishan section, there are new signs added to show the direction of the hill-climbing trail, the locations of the rest areas and toilets, and the directions and distances to historic sites such as the former Yunjing Temple and the Earth Temple.

Besides, there are also some new facilities added to the demonstration section, including a 600-square meters entrance square, three landscapes, a cultural wall and an additional toilet renovated from an old building, in addition to the perfected green areas.

The construction unit also repaired the ancient remains along the hill-climbing trail, such as the monument of Shiying Bridge, the Yunjing Temple and tea-booth, the Tongqu Earth Temple, etc.

The second phase of the reconstruction of the Sanxiang Guhe section of the Shiqi-Macao Ancient Road will be commenced in September, and the repair of the Sanxiang Yongmo section is planned to be commenced this December.
