As National Day approaches, the main streets of Zhongshan are being decorated with flower sculptures, national flags and Chinese lanterns. All of the decorations are helping to create a stronger festive atmosphere.

At 4 pm on September 24, the first large-size flower sculpture was under decoration in front of the office building of the Zhongshan Municipal People's Congress and Zhongshan Muicipal Committee of CPPCC. A large heart-shaped flower statue, 5 meters high and 5 meters wide, now sits under the national flag.

"The national map flower sculpture at the Sun Wen Memorial Park requires the heaviest workload. That flower sculpture is 10 meters tall and covers a much larger area than this other one. They are now building a platform for it," said a staff member.

Zhongshan will also place the other 9 flower sculptures respectively on Xingzhong Avenue and Bo'ai Road, at the entrance of the municipal government,  in Yixian Lake Park, Zimaling Park, at the entrances of expressways, among others. All of the flower sculptures are expected to be done by September 29.

Thanks to the new cloth bag hanging technology adopted this year, these flower sculptures have a longer duration than in previous years. The general public will be able to enjoy them for more than a month.
