In recent years, Xiaolan Town has made great efforts to build a high-quality habitat which is suitable for living, industry development, and tourism. It has built Zhongshan Northwest Group Children's Park and a number of community street gardens. This year, Xiaolan Town will continue to accelerate the construction of several parks and ecological parks such as the Southern Ecological Park as well as upgrade the "three major parks": Longshan, Fengshan, and Jiangbin.

Recently, construction personnel planted maple and metasequoia trees in the Dayouwei area of the Southern Ecological Park. In the future, this park will be a natural oxygen bar, with lush greenery through planting of forests, natural retaining walls, and children's amusement facilities, etc, making it one of the core areas of the urban landscape.

The Southern Ecological Park is located at the junction of Lianfeng, Shengfeng and Jiuzhouji communities in Xiaolan Town. The planned land area for the project is 405 mu (about 270,000 square meters). It is equipped with five major areas: Forest Oxygen Bar, Wucai Flower Field, Central Square, Lotus Pond, and Lingli Flower Field. It is planned to open the first phase of about 120 mu of constructed areas to the public in August this year.

The person in charge of the project said that the Southern Ecological Park not only provides a good leisure and entertainment environment and facilities for the surrounding residents, but also increases Xiaolan's tourism resources. Next to the Southern Ecological Park, a ceramic museum is also under planning.
