Haotou Village in Torch Development Zone is a great place to go sightseeing and enjoy the majestic mountain views. Located in the eastern suburbs of Zhongshan and in front of Wumafeng Mountain, Haotou Village was founded at almost the same time as Xiangshan County. It is a large and beautiful village with a long history and has been home to many famous persons.
Haotou Village is the hometown to many overseas Chinese people. As early as the 19th century, Haotao villagers emigrated abroad. There are currently more than 3,000 overseas Chinese from Haotou Village living around the world, and the footprints of the Zheng's family can be found in every corner of the world. Although living abroad, they have always kept an eye on the development of their hometown and contributed to local development and social welfare.
Entering Haotou Village and following the roadway for several miles, visitors will see an archway carved from granite with a height of about 9 meters and a width of 11 meters. This archway, built in 1637, is the earliest archway in Zhongshan. After nearly 400 years, it still stands in front of the ancestral hall like a giant.
Zheng's Ancestral Hall facing southeast was built in the Ming Dynasty in 1624. Thanks to the joint efforts of the Zheng clan descendants from all over the world, this 400-year-old ancestral hall was rebuilt in 2014, restoring its original grandeur and re-assuming the role of a spiritual gathering place for respecting ancestors and families.
