The plan on park and green space system construction for 2020-2035 of Zhongshan has been approved.

The plan proposes to explore a path of park city construction in accordance with Zhongshan's characteristics and conditions, with 300 high-standard parks to be built or rebuilt by the end of 2024.

Based on the Wugui Mountain, the Qijiang River, the Xijiang River among other core natural resources, Zhongshan proposes to create the Wugui Mountain Parks Cluster, the Qijiang River Parks Belt, the Eastern Coastal Belt and the Magnificent Xijiang River Scenic Belt with influence in the Greater Bay Area. According to the plan, residents in Zhongshan will be able to find a playground walking 5 minutes, a park after walking 10 minutes, and a large park or natural landscape walking 30 minutes.

The plan also proposes to build talent parks, health parks, children's parks and other multi-theme and multi-function parks to meet the needs of people of all ages.
