"We did not expect that many tourists to be here visiting out orchard during the Qingming Festival holiday. We sold over 500 kg of Shenwan pineapples in total," smiled Yao Xiaoling, owner of the Yaoling Fruit Farm located in near the Yaji Mountain in Shenxi Village, Shenwan Town.

During the three-day holiday, Yao's farm received numerous tourists from Zhongshan, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Foshan, Zhuhai and other Greater Bay Area cities.

During the holiday, approximately 80,000 tourists flocked to Shenwan Town, leading to a total tourism income of over 12 million yuan.

It is reported that Shenwan has a total pineapple cultivation area of 4,000 mu, yielding about 7,000 tons of fruits per year, with an annual output value of over 100 million yuan.

The 4th Shenwan Pineapple Cultural Tourism Month & Investment and Exchange Conference will take place from April 29 to May 31, with such activities as the food market, Golden Earth Concert, roller skating open tournament, camping festival and night runs.
