Construction is being expedited on the "Shanhai Zhuxi" improvement project along the Lanxi River in Zhongshan's Cuiheng New District (Nanlang Subdistrict), with phased openings expected in October.

The project tailors its design to local terrain, creating a mix of shallow shoals and deeper pools. It also includes four ecological weirs, about 1.1 km of eco‑boardwalks, and several waterside platforms.
Three distinct waterfront zones are planned: natural river views upstream, a shallow wading area for children in the middle, and a waterfront hall called "Concentric Circles Square", along with roughly 800 meters of natural swimming area, downstream.
The Lanxi River Waterfront Coffee and Music Hall (Concentric Circles Square) is under accelerated construction. With a total investment of 1.79 million yuan, the site features a circular open‑air theater, a two‑story coffee shop, scenic walkways, and stepped grass seating.
