Minzu Road (民族路), a street that has borne witness to a century of commercial change in Zhongshan and holds the memories of generations, and which locals have dubbed "Zhongshan's Dongshankou", has reopened with a fresh look after renovation.

A wave of coffee brands has moved in, with independent proprietors weaving contemporary design into the century-old shophouse arcades. The road has quickly become a trendy "coffee street."

Dessert bakeries, Japanese eateries and quick meal restaurants line the street, offering visitors a taste of Zhongshan food.

Tucked away along Minzu Road are a handful of retro yet stylish record and audio shops. Order an iced drink, take a seat, and let the old tunes play — it feels like stepping back into a golden era of music.

In the 1990s, Minzu Road was a hub for fashionable women's wear, cosmetics and personal care products, earning it the reputation of Zhongshan's "Women's Street."
