Zhongshan's Fuhua Hotel, a long-standing landmark by the Qijiang River, has completed a two-year renovation and will begin trial operations on October 16.

Put into service in 1986, Fuhua Hotel has ranked among China's well-known hotels since 1990. A representative of Zhongshan's reform and opening-up, it holds cherished hometown memories for local people and for Zhongshan natives at home and abroad. In 2024, under the coordination of Zhongshan Investment Holdings, it was comprehensively upgraded and renovated to become a high-quality urban garden hotel.
The new Fuhua Hotel sits on about 29.8 mu (about 1.99 hectares). The renovation follows a "preserve and rebuild" approach: the main building, which holds so many shared memories, has been kept intact, the Fuhua Palace Chinese restaurant has been rebuilt, and the remaining structures have been remodeled or newly built to serve new functions.
The hotel has 195 guest rooms fitted with modern decor and smart amenities, along with a new underground parking garage providing 254 spots. On the 17th floor, the revolving restaurant that residents remember so fondly has returned, offering sweeping views of the Qijiang River, the Sunwen West Road Pedestrian Street, the Zhongshan Skywheel, and other city landscapes.
