In Zhentoujiao Village, Waisha Village of Shenwan Town, an old watchtower has been renovated into an education base of Party history. It has attracted more than 1,000 visitors since its completion on June 30 this year.

The ash-gray building stands at No.1 Zhenxing Street, Zhentoujiao Village. Entering the front gate, a desk for taking the admission oath of the CPC can been seen in front. On the left side, an introduction to the watchtower is displayed .

There are 3 floors in the watchtower each with unique decoration. A small cannon platform on the top floor shows the offensive and defensive functions of the watchtower in the old days.

During the Chinese Civil War (1945-1949), the watchtower was a battleground of great military significance. In 2016, the watchtower was recognized as a Zhongshan Historical Building.
